LICENSE NOTICE
This End User License Agreement ("EULA") governs your right to access and use the Litigent software platform. By creating an account or accessing the Service, you accept this EULA in full. This is a license to use software — not the provision of legal services. Litigent AI Inc. grants no right to rely on the Service's output as legal advice, and accepts no responsibility for legal outcomes.
This agreement is provided in English, French, Spanish, and Dutch as a convenience. In the event of any conflict or discrepancy between versions, the English version governs.
Subject to the terms of this EULA and payment of applicable subscription fees, Litigent AI Inc. grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to access and use the Litigent platform solely for your personal, non-commercial use in connection with your own family law proceeding in Canada.
This license does not include the right to:
Litigent is a focused content delivery and organizational software tool. Its purpose is to:
The Service is a software tool. It processes your inputs and returns AI-generated outputs, including draft documents populated with information you provide and formatted against the procedural rules of your province. Those drafts are starting points produced by software. No lawyer reviews them before they reach you, and they are not a substitute for qualified legal counsel.
All users assume complete and exclusive legal ownership of and responsibility for any document, argument, filing, or strategy produced using the Service. Litigent AI Inc. does not review, approve, endorse, or take any responsibility for outputs generated by the Service or for your use of those outputs.
The Litigent platform, including its software, AI models, interfaces, branding, and all underlying technology, is the exclusive property of Litigent AI Inc. and its licensors, protected by Canadian and international intellectual property laws.
You retain ownership of the content you input into the Service. You grant Litigent AI Inc. a limited license to process your inputs solely to deliver the Service to you. This license does not extend to use of your content for any other purpose, including AI model training.
AI-generated outputs produced by the Service in response to your inputs are licensed to you for personal use in connection with your legal proceeding only. You may not distribute, publish, or commercialize such outputs without prior written consent from Litigent AI Inc.
The Service does not provide legal advice. This is not a formality — it is a fundamental and material characteristic of what the Service is and is not.
Litigent AI Inc. is a technology company. It is not a law firm. It is not registered or licensed to practice law in any Canadian province or territory. No employee, contractor, or AI system associated with the Service is acting as your lawyer or legal agent.
The outputs of the Service — regardless of how authoritative, accurate, or applicable they may appear — are software outputs. They are the result of statistical pattern matching by an AI system. They are not reviewed by lawyers before delivery to you. They may be wrong. They may be dangerously wrong in ways that are not obvious. You must not file, submit, or act on any output from the Service without independent review by a licensed Canadian family law lawyer.
BY USING THE SERVICE, YOU IRREVOCABLY ACKNOWLEDGE THAT:
Documents generated by the Service are draft frameworks intended to assist your preparation. Litigent AI Inc. makes no representation that any document produced by the Service:
You are entirely responsible for ensuring that any document you file with a court or tribunal complies with all applicable rules. Litigent AI Inc. bears no responsibility for rejected filings, procedural errors, or any consequences arising from court filings made using materials generated by the Service.
Litigent AI Inc. maintains encrypted operational backups for disaster recovery. These exist for infrastructure resilience and are not a user-facing restore service: we do not guarantee that any particular file can be recovered, and we do not accept individual restore requests. You acknowledge that data loss can occur due to technical failure, server outages, software errors, account termination, or other causes, and you are solely responsible for maintaining independent copies of all important materials. Except for liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including gross negligence, wilful misconduct or fraud, Litigent AI Inc. is not liable for loss of data or materials.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Litigent processes highly sensitive legal information. You must:
Litigent AI Inc. shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from unauthorized access to your account resulting from your failure to maintain adequate security of your credentials.
This EULA is effective from the date you first access the Service and continues until terminated. Litigent AI Inc. may terminate your license immediately and without notice if you breach any provision of this EULA or the Terms of Service. Upon termination, your right to access the Service ceases immediately. Provisions of this EULA that by their nature survive termination shall survive, including all disclaimer, limitation of liability, and indemnification provisions.
Litigent AI Inc. may update, modify, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time without notice. We are under no obligation to maintain any particular feature, AI capability, or content. Continued use of the Service following any update constitutes acceptance of the updated Service.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LITIGENT AI INC.'S LIABILITY UNDER THIS EULA IS LIMITED AS DESCRIBED IN THE TERMS OF SERVICE. IN NO EVENT WILL LITIGENT AI INC. BE LIABLE FOR ANY LEGAL OUTCOME, COURT DECISION, ADVERSE ORDER, FINANCIAL LOSS, OR ANY OTHER CONSEQUENCE ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR YOUR RELIANCE ON ITS OUTPUTS.
This EULA shall be governed by the laws of the Province of New Brunswick and the federal laws of Canada. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Brunswick.

If any provision of this EULA is held invalid, illegal, or unenforceable in any jurisdiction, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable or, if modification is not possible, severed. The remaining provisions continue in full force and effect. If a provision is unenforceable as to one user or in one jurisdiction, it remains enforceable as to all others. Nothing in this EULA excludes or limits any right you have under the consumer protection legislation of your province of residence, or any liability for gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or fraud.
