Family-law technology must account for coercive control, monitored devices, shared accounts, and unsafe communications. If your situation involves family violence or immediate risk, prioritize safety and local professional support before using any online tool.
Before using Litigent on a sensitive matter
- • Use a safe device and email address if someone else monitors your phone, computer, browser history, or inbox.
- • Turn off lock-screen notification previews where possible.
- • Do not upload or send materials from a shared account if doing so could put you or a child at risk.
- • Preserve original evidence. Keep screenshots, messages, files, and metadata separate from AI summaries or drafts.
- • If there is immediate danger, contact emergency services or a local crisis line. Software is not a safety plan.
Product safety principles
Litigent should support privacy mode, neutral notifications, controlled exports, account security, and clear warnings before creating or sharing conflict-sensitive documents.
Court-preparation boundaries
Litigent can help organize facts and drafts. It cannot assess your safety, replace a safety plan, or advise what legal steps you should take in an emergency.
